Umer Farooq is an Electrical Engineer with overall experience of 7 years in power system planning and research. He worked for the National Transmission and Despatch Company in Pakistan for more than 5 years and has a vast experience in load forecasting, generation planning and transmission planning. He worked in LUMS Energy Institute and developed a generation dispatch software including generation dispatch module, financial module, fuel forecast module and distribution system module. He has been playing his role to support the Government as well as the private sector in efficient policy making.
He is currently working in Engineer's Guild as power system planning engineer and is contributing effectively in all planning studies projects. He has a profound experience in load forecasting, generation dispatch analysis, generation planning studies and transmission system studies. In addition, he has a creative mind and has a special capability to come up with out of the box solutions to peculiar problems.
